I once had someone who was approaching the age of age forty ( At the time, so was I. ) bemoan the perception of getting older. Since this person was well versed in digital logic and the associated mathematics, I suggested that instead of counting age decimally, age should be counted in hexadecimal by which 40 Dec comes to 28 Hex and one could say that one's age was only twenty-eight.
I got the most peculiar stare.
So perhaps the answer to this dismay lies elsewhere such as in counting one's age by using the solar orbits of a different planet.
The outer planets make fewer revolutions per standard calendar millennia than Earth does, so if you count your age by one of them, there is a benefit. In my case, according to Mars, I'm still in my mid-thirties, a mere youngster.
Of course, don't pay any attention to the inner planets.
John Gray says men are from Mars, so I am going take that as a second opinion, which then validates your thinking. Congratulations, fellow Martian!

You forgot the sun, which is 15 years old. I've been around for 295 nanoseconds.

I like counting in hexadecimal. Of course, my project is lead by a guy who's only 1C.
