As of November 14, 2012, nothing has yet been done about this pole. While repairs in the aftermath of Hurriane Sandy and Nor'easter Adele will undoubtedly have priority, this pole is still a clear and present community danger.

More to come as this situation develops.

John: Are you sure our great telephone company is the owner of this "bent" pole or is it owned by our favorite supplier of electricity (you know, that product that took a very long time to return to many people here on Long Island)?

John Dunn

It took some time and effort to resolve that question.
I've been touch with the power company, the phone company, town officials and the New York State Public Service Commision, but all to no avail so far. It turns out that the pole is the phone company's.

Well, when this pole will (not if) fall, depending on the circumstances someone will have to find a new job, if not facing criminal charges. My opinion is that it will be deserved. Make sure that when the problem arise, the problem was already identified.
