When I send out our LICN meeting notices, I use a mailing list that I've been compiling for quite a few years now. Presently, there are four-hundred, twenty-eight e-mail addresses in there.
One time when I used that list, I got the first four-hundred messages out okay in eight groups of fifty each, but when I tried to send the last group of twenty-eight, this happened:
My ISP is Optimum, so I gave their tech support number a call. The fellow who answered professed to be surprised by this event. While I waited on the phone, he did some magic at his end, told me to try sending that last message group again which I did, and it went out okay.
A second time later, I got this same "sending limit" message again, but since I had other urgent stuff to do, I left matters to stand. When I got back to my desk again, I sent a single non-LICN message out to someone not involved with our group and then I sent that last LICN message group which went out okay.
Something is going on here! Just what it is, I'm not sure though. Note the reference to "Acceptable Use Policy".
I plan to look at that URL but does anyone have any comments?
