I recently got involved with some written materials about 5G communications systems and in reading, or in trying to read some of the articles I found, I discovered an alphabet soup of acronyms of which I did not know the definitions. I found myself extremely confused. It was like trying to decipher something like this:
"Channel allocations of the ABC do not depend on the XYZ or the PDQ but rely instead on the VSOP of the RSVP with some moderation from the BYOB."
Did you get that? Neither did I so I decided to look for some kind of acronym glossary. I found one at Glossary of Acronyms
In that glossary, there was a list of five-hundred and sixteen acronym definitions as follows:
Some letter combinations show up more than once. That's because there is more than one definition of some letter combinations like EP which can mean either "End-Point" or "Elementary Procedure".
In any case, you might want to keep a glossary like this one on hand if you decide to read up on the 5G topic.
I know that I have to do that.
I noticed this one in the list.
cm Wave = Centre Metre Wave band
It appears that this was compiled by someone without a technical background.

Hi, Jerry.
I didn't look over the list for errors, but that you found one should give one pause about double checking things. There are probably other glossaries to be found as well.
What was getting me as I tried to read up on the topic was that so many authors use acronyms as if they were commonly understood words. My suggestion to any would be author yet to be heard from is to provide an acronym's definition the first time that the acronym appears in an essay.
Please have mercy on us ignorant types.
