I happened to come across this antique vehicle the other day.
Nowhere could I find any manufacturer's name on it and the Florida inspection sticker on the windshield which dated from 1977 offered no information either so exactly what year this vehicle dates from is unknown.
It was set up as a pick-up truck. Whether that was its original configuration or not, I don't know, but I did notice something in particular that I thought was quite novel.
What I initially thought was just a hood ornament turned out to be a thermometer.
The top most scale calibrations are 90°C (176°F) on the left in this view and on the other side, 180°F. The thermometer's column could be seen from in front of the vehicle or from the driver's seat. In either case, you could check the radiator's water temperature by glancing at this thing. If the radiator was going to boil over for some reason, you would get a nice look-see.
The dashboard was really sparse in the instrumentation department and nothing in there was readable so what other measurements might have been available to the driver, I can only guess.
