Fifty-two years ago, I had the honor of working at Sanders Associates with some really top notch engineers and really good guys including a fellow named Russ Kincaid. A couple of decades (Yes, decades.) later, I met Russ again, that second time on line on a bulletin board called "Twysted Pair". Some years later still when that bulletin board shut down, I again lost track of Russ.
Today, the e-mail immediately below came in and I thought "Wow!! I'll be getting back in touch with Russ again." only the e-mail address which I've covered up here didn't look like a US address and there was a link which I imagined I was supposed to click. I didn't trust that so I sent back an innocuous reply which a few minutes later, got bounced back.
Until I learn otherwise later on, I am sadly convinced that I was contacted by an impersonator, not by Russ himself. I am convinced that someone got hold of some old e-mail records and set this up as a highly personalized ploy to induce me to click on a link which would have installed malware on my PC.
If I ever find out otherwise, I will say so but for now CAUTION is the byword.
