Our kitchen faucet's spigot screen, its aerator, recently broke down and gave me a brief but unexpected shower. I went to a local hardware store and bought a replacement which has an output structure which, as it turned out, has an effect that I don't like.
Six blue plastic spokes cause water to flow in six thin and separate streams at low faucet settings. The faucet has to be opened quite wide to achieve a single water stream.
I went looking for an aerator that would operate as the prior aerator had operated and came across one which had a small paper note visible within the packaging.
It read:
This device is without the plastic spokes, but is this thing really supposed to be acceptable for dispensing tap water for one to ingest?
Coffee or tea, anyone?
I didn't buy it.
